Calculation basis: Theoretical combustion air is calculated from the fuel ultimate analysis. Actual air requirement is estimated from measured flue-gas O₂. The total air requirement is then divided equally between two FD fans.

For actual fan selection, FD fan static pressure, altitude, humidity, air leakage, air-preheater arrangement and other system resistances should also be considered.
